Some people check the news on the Internet instead of the newspaper or TV. Do you think this is a good idea?


I think it is not a good idea. There are two reasons for this. The first reason is that on the Internet, people often only see news that interests them. This can narrow their perspective because they don’t see a balanced range of information. On TV or in newspapers, the news is selected to give a broader and more balanced view of important issues. The second reason is that the Internet is not always truthful. People can post information anonymously, and some even pretend to be someone else. While it is true that TV and newspapers are not always perfect, their information is generally more reliable than what you find on the Internet. For these reasons, I think it is better to check the news on TV or in newspapers instead of relying on the Internet. (135 words)

新聞やテレビではなく、インターネットでニュースをチェックする人もいます。これは良いアイデアだと思いますか？

私は、インターネットでニュースを見るのは良い考えではないと思います。その理由は2つあります。1つ目の理由は、インターネットでは人々が自分の興味のあるニュースだけを見る傾向があるからです。これでは視野が狭くなり、バランスの取れた情報を得ることができません。一方、テレビや新聞では重要な問題について幅広く、バランスの取れたニュースが選ばれています。2つ目の理由は、インターネット上の情報が必ずしも正確でないことです。匿名で投稿できたり、他人になりすまして情報を発信することも可能だからです。テレビや新聞の情報も完璧ではないことは確かですが、インターネットに比べて信頼性が高いことが一般的です。これらの理由から、ニュースはインターネットよりもテレビや新聞で確認するほうが良いと思います。
